Upgraded Macbook Pro to Sequoia 15 now touch id no longer works. Help!

MacBook Pro 2020 2GHz Quod Core Intel. 16 GB

Touch id worked perfectly yesterday but after downloading and installing Sequoia 15 overnight I discovered the touch id no longer worked. Tried installing a new finger print but no fingerprint was read - just an empty fingerprint image displayed with no recognition of any finger applied.

Rebooted the system but no difference - the touch id does not function.

Not happy!

How many times has the computer been restarted since the macOS 15.0 Sequoia upgrade was installed ?

Restart in Safe Mode.

This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts.

The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading.

It will only load the Minimum amount of Core Apple Processes to allow the the computer to function at a reduced Level of Performance

Does the issue present in this mode ?

Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

Use Touch ID on Mac

If all above does not resolve this issue
