Do you have to have an Apple Cash balance in order to send someone cash or can it come directly out of your debit card that is linked to Apple Cash?
If you have a balance in Apple Cash and you send cash to someone, will the balance in Apple Cash be used first?

If you’d read the Apple Support article I linked to you’d have seen the exact instructions.
If you haven't added a debit card to the Wallet app, you need to add one to send money.
It can come directly from a debit card if the card is in your Apple Wallet app on the device. Just start by disabling Apple Cash in Settings > Wallet & Apple Cash > Apple Cash — disable (no Green showing)
Then send Apple Cash via Messages app on your device.

If you disable Apple Cash in Settings, you are completely unable to use Apple Cash, Jeff.
I would just like to know:

I did read the instructions you sent.
I am unable to find "Change Payment Method" anywhere.
When I turn the "Apple Cash" slider to off under Apple Cash and Wallet Settings it immediately gives the warning:
"This card will be removed from Wallet"
And when I turn it off and attempt to Send Cash via Wallet or Messages, I get the notification "Apple Cash has been turned off on this device" with the button directly below that message that says "Open Settings" where I have to go back into Settings to turn Apple Cash back on and set up Apple Cash again.
I am at a loss.
If I am doing something wrong, I don't know what it is.
