So, there are multiple ways of dealing with the issue. I’ve a Rolex GMT Master I purchased in 1987. But over time it’s received it’s received various battle scars.
Jump forward to 2022 and my new Ultra. Yes, it’s a natural finish and will show marks, but it’s the nature of titanium to oxidize when exposed to air. When titanium is freshly exposed, the scratch is fairly evident depending on size.
Let’s jump to 2024 and the introduction of black coated titanium. Yes, it’s diamond coated, but still, it can be scratched and natural titanium will be exposed. It’ll darken over time, but it’ll never be black.
So, what are my options? Leave, like I did with my Rolex. Battle scars aren’t so bad, and generally have interesting stories associated with them. You can go the magic marker route or paint pen and apply some black paint or dye to you watch. It’s your call. Yes, I’ve painted multiple items, and if you have questions please let me know.
