Iphone 16 Pro overheating

Hey there! I just got the iPhone 16 Pro 1TB, and it’s overheating like crazy. It’s kinda scary, feels like it might explode in my hand while I’m typing this. I bought it less than 24 hours ago. Any tips? Also, what’s the return policy? Thanks

I bought my iPhone 16 pro on the day they were released. It’s got hotter and hotter each day until it has said it has to stop charging due to overheating today. It’s quite worrying as the device gets so hot. I can’t seem to log a support call though. Does anyone know how I can?

Tired of everyone taping about the billions of data running in the background. This is lowkey embarrassing, it's been over a week and the battery drops 1% each minute. My mothers SE and my 16 Pro somehow got WORSE battery ???

And now the magical solution is to give it time ? I go to sleep and wake up to -30% of battery?? No location enabled, AOD turned off, Background app refresh turned off, WiFi only.... What's next

I have an iPhone 16 with the same issues described here and it stops working when it gets very hot WITHOUT any message on the screen. After the temperature is back to normal I can use it for no longer than 5 minutes before it „freezes“ again and it’s very, very hot. Never had this issue with any new iPhone since the 3GS. So this is serious! I will send my iPhone 16 back.

Well just last night I was on a phone call while charging my iPhone 16 Pro, which I literally got only a couple of weeks ago, and at some point when I take a look at the display I find the notification that charge had been put on hold due to iPhone temperature, and since then I have been extremely worried that since I hadn't noticed this while I was on my call, I have no idea how long that had been going on and might now end up hurting my battery health, which after two weeks is still obviously at 100%

I mean, before this 16 Pro I had a 15 Pro for an entire year and managed to successfully keep its battery health at 100% but it had never shown this charge on hold notification. Now I am literally torturing myself thinking that the fact that this has happened so soon with my 16 Pro means that it will most likely go down in battery health precisely due to this issue. Please help me out here, Apple has gotten us really obsessed over this battery health issue, then they say don't worry, so why on earth do you end up placing so much relevance on it at the moment of pricing the phone for a trade in? Are they seriously intending to mess with our heads here?

iPhone 16 max pro 1T - same randomly getting hot can’t hold no warning message or shut down. Customer service said must be soft wear related that’s nonsense, it’s the phone my mother has same phone soft wear no issues, I’m paying for insurance and can’t get another phone, will be on a 15 hr flight and week long cruise if it blows up or catches fire, bad deal for Apple not replacing , I have tried no luck!

This is this issue with iPhone 16 pro??? It’s burning hot after miner usage and if we keep it in charge it can be used as hair straighter - it’s that hot. I spoke to support team they said if temperature warning issue is not coming then it’s not a problem, but we are not able to hold the phone in hand if it’s burning hot. This is not acceptable from Apple. Too much disappointing.

I am a iPhone user since 5 years, never faced any issues on my iPhone 11 that's the reason I trusted and upgraded my phone.

Today I got my phone ungraded from iPhone 11 to iPhone 16pro and the first day itself I am facing this heating issue.

everytime I click few photos. So I updated it to the latest ios 18.1 still the same thing. It gets even more hotter when I try to use the slightest of AI feature like clean up or even talking to siri, it heats up like sun.
