I can’t add my Applepay to my IPhone 16 plus.

My card info transferred over but when I enter my Security code the CVV number I get a message that the card number is wrong. This is the same card that is on my Apple account and pays for my subscription and purchases with no problem

Card not valid is almost always an issue with the bank or the Payment Network Processor (Mastercard, Visa, American Express etc.). The validation step sends Name, card number, expiration date and CVV security code to either or both the issuing bank and PNO. No other information is sent until a validation is confirmed.


In my experience, the most common issues are name doesn’t match name on card or name on application, card was activated at bank, but bank didn’t notify PNO. Other less common issues are expiration date in wrong format (MM/YY vs. MM/YYYY), card over limit, and missed payment.
