I have an 2024 M3 MacBook Air and could never figure out why the Apple Pay did not work on this machine. When I turned off the FileVault encryption and restarted the computer, I no longer got the message, "Apple Pay has been disabled because the security setting of this Mac were modified." in the Wallet & Apple Pay settings.
Well I just turned FileVault encryption back on and it held - I can use the computer to use Apple Pay. I know I have restarted the machine many times before so it is a puzzle. I'm glad it is working. Hopefully it will continue to work. Thanks!
It’s not supposed to restrict Apple Pay. Cards used for Apple Pay are stored in the Secure Element, which is a SOC (System on a Chip) and not affected by FileVault.
I can’t load cards into my Apple wallet it’s been happening for sometime as well as I believe my phone is being hacked
