My Apple Pay was Hacked.

My Credit cards are stored on my Apple I Phone wallet. and its registered for Apple Pay. I have a Credit Card from a Bank in Dubai. my Credit card was Hacked recently.

I used this Bank Credit Card on Apple Pay at on 6th of Oct at MCDonalds , Enoc Site to pay for car wash and again at Enoc site to purchases.

Next day in the evening when I was at home my card got deducted for Aed 1000/- and again for Aed 4999/60

within minutes. I immediatly loged on to the bank site and blocked the card.

I infored the bank. But this evening they responded saying as below.

**********************************************************************************

Transaction Date: 07/Oct/2024

Transaction Amount (AED): 1000.00,4999.60

Reference ID: 14****6

Wallet Name: Apple Pay

Greetings from ........

Thank you for banking with ...........

With reference to the disputed transaction(s) detailed above, we have investigated the matter and our findings reveal that these transaction(s) are 3D Secure and were conducted through an above mentioned digital wallet.

In view of the above, we would like to inform you that in accordance with Visa / Mastercard guidelines on card transaction disputes, we are unable to refund the above amount. The disputed transaction(s) is / are considered closed.

*******************************************************************************************

I was having dinner at home when I received the messages with deductions. and there is no way that I entered any OTP for 3D secure transaction to take place. I am sure they hacked my card when I used the previous day at the petrol station.

I removed all my cards from Apple Pay today. This is deffinetly not safe.

Thanks

What were the charges for that you disputed?

You can initiate a transaction with Apple Pay, such as a subscription, and the code that is given to the retailer allows them to continue making recurring charges. The recurring charges will be billed to your card directly and are not billed to Apple Pay. Removing the card from Apple Pay will make no difference on these type of charges.

The one thing I can assure you is that your Apple Pay has not been hacked. Every such claim here has either been followed up by an explanation for the charge provided by the OP, such as being an Organizer of a family plan where members are able to make purchase on their card or that they had given out their passcode where another person can make purchases, or the OP had gone silent which usually means they had figured out the charge was legitimate.

Jeff Donald is floating around here and is far more knowledgeable then I am on Apple Pay transactions and may be able to provide more specific information.

My Apple Pay was Hacked.
