Best external CD/DVD drive to use with 2023 MacBook running Sonoma

Pretty much any external drive should work.

You do have to remember though that they need to be connected either directly to the Mac using a compatible adapter or through a self powered dock for them to work correctly.

I use and can recommend the one linked below. It worked for me on my M1 MacBook Air with Sonoma and now with Sequoia.

Hopefully it comes back. But if it doesn't, there's always third party drives.

The USB-A to USB 3.0 B cable that comes with it is rather short. However, you can get longer USB-A to USB 3.0 B and USB-C to USB 3.0 B cables on Amazon.
