I just updated my iPhone to iOS 18.1 and cannot see the hearing aid/hearing test features. My AirPods are up to date 7B19
I'm in the UK if that makes any difference.
I've just noticed that the feature is not available in the UK. It's just about the only country where it's not available

Apple SupportUK is as much use as a chocolate fireguard on this subject. I enquire and had to jump through several hoops e.g "Serial number please". Nothing wrong with the AirPods Pro 2 just asking why the UK is not included.
Did a bit of research and this is what came up from the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
Apple simply hasn't registered them in the UK! This is the MHRA response.

Do you mind confirming the region you are in.
even changing all location settings whilst in the uk, does not open up the hearing health menu like that. It’s also not available in the public or non public release.
im assuming you are not actually in the UK
UK users can now update their software to IOS 18.3, the hearing aid feature has finally been released!!!
It hasn’t. Wishful thinking that 18.3 would arrive with people in the UK finally being allowed to use it.
The UK is still not showing in the list of countries where it is available.
Me too. Felt I was mis sold. Can’t believe registration is taking so long in the UK, especially as the government is warm to the idea… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think this feature is approved for use in the US and Canada for now, however I’m in Canada and also cannot see the test/aid features. All firmware upgrades done.
Those features are not allowed in Canada yet. Look up “Hearing Health Feature Availability“ on the Apple support site.
You can still set them up as hearing aids by using an Apple device that is running 17.7.1 or lower. Maybe an iPad or older iPhone. You don't get ALL the benefits of 18.1 but they work and work well.
Don’t know if this is a naive question but could you re assign the iPad to an available region in settings e.g from UK to Ireland? where it is available.
When you’re wrong you’re wrong: the hearing aid feature was approved for use in Canada yesterday. There’s hope yet for the UK.
As we now know this didn’t happen: the hearing test was released but no way of using the audiogram to customise the frequency response in custom sound settings. Option still not present.
It is in 18.2 here: AirPods (in settings) > Accessibility > Iphone Audio and Visual Settings > Headphone Accommodations >
Well I updated it and I now have the feature, I’m using 15 pro max. Could try restarting phone to see if that makes a difference

And you have the Air Pod Pro 2? Have you tried restarting everything?
My country is also not in the list. I bought my AirPods Pro 2 specifically for the hearing aid option. How is the inclusion determined? Who approves inclusion in each country and is there a list of expected date of inclusion in each country? Thanks
Well you need to explain to me why moderate hearing loss left ear has magically started working again when I wear my Airpods. I am hearing music like it never went away and the pleasant rain background sound helps to mask my tinnitus when I am relaxing.
In restaurant with six of us eating at a table I can hear every word that everybody says yet I couldn't hear anything before.
It sounds like you work for Apple and you don't want people to know.
I have no doubt they are even better now with 8.1 but I know people on the various hearing aid forums with severe hearing loss who have been using the music and Apple TV side of them very successfully sincw 2022 until Apple broke them with IOS 18.1. That is REALLY shabby.
