How can I switch my default card in Apple Pay?

I have upgraded to iPhone 16 and downloaded the updates now on ios 18.1. When I use my Visa/Debit card with ApplePay it always uses Visa for all my transactions. There is nowhere for me to choose to use Visa or Eftpos. I have read the forum and deleted my card and readded it - no change. I then deleted my card, turned my iphone off, turned on and then readded my card - again no change. I went into the CBA bank and they couldn't help me, they seemed to think it is an Apply Pay issue. What can I do to make Apple Pay use my Eftpos instead of Visa?

Bank regulations have changed in regard to dual network cards.

>>When you make a transaction in-store, the merchant chooses whether the transaction made by a dual-network debit card will be processed through the eftpos network or the international network.

Dual-network debit cards aren't available from all banks. Contact your bank for more information.<<

My understanding the changes in banking regulations occurred around the middle of September.

This article explains proposed changes and the necessity of the changes.

Thanks for you reply Jeff, it is a huge coincidence that this change occurred when I changed my phone! I also noted from a similar thread that others were able to fix the issue by removing the card and readding it etc - I had followed those instructions but they did not work for me. I don't doubt what you say but I am confused as for example Woolworths always used my Eftpos and when I changed my phone it now uses Visa, so if the merchant chooses how they process dual cards, why did a whole range of merchants change the same day I got my new iphone? I believe there is something more to this and if anyone has the answer I would appreciate any response. Thank you again for your input Jeff.
