Missing QuickLook thumbnail for supported (Canon R Series) camera RAW file type (Sequoia)

Is anyone else experiencing this issue ...


Canon's RAW file formats have been supported by macOS for a number of releases (see Digital camera RAW formats supported by iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and visionOS 2 - Apple Support (CA)). After upgrading directly to Sequoia 15.1, I noticed that the QuickLook thumbnail was missing for such files:



It should look somewhat like the following example (which uses a custom Finder icon for the thumbnail in place of the QuickLook thumbnail).


Is this a likely oversight in Sequoia or could it be the result of Canon not providing a timely update that conforms to Sequoia's QuickLook app extension API for thumbnail generation?
