How can I sync my iPod Touch 7 without Wi-Fi?

I'm trying to sync my iPod Touch 7 as new after erasing it to get rid of multiple duplications in it.

After erasing it and starting all over as if it were never used, I am trying to sync this thing without wi-fi where it says that I have that option but I do not see any kind of library on the unit, only the display saying connected to computer. I don't know if I missed a step on the iPod itself to sync without wi-fi or what the problem is.

HELP from anyone out there who may have an answer on how to sync this thing without wi-fi. Thank you in advance.

Does the device show up in the iTunes sidebar when connected? See About the 'Trust This Computer' alert message on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and the section If you need help with the alert message. You may need to reset the location and privacy settings.

If the device still doesn't appear in iTunes when connected try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community.

Once the device shows up you should be able to select it in the sidebar and make sync selections in order to copy content to it.

Do you work for Apple because you sure know a lot about these issues. If you don't, you sure ought to be. I will try again later, maybe I missed a step or so since I read the procedure. Thanks once again.

Tried the steps provided from Apple support on syncing this gizmo without wi-fi. To be truthful, Apple does not go in depth about what to key into the pod itself, like what it may have to be set on or why it just does not seem to sync without wi-fi. What if I didn't have wi-fi? All the unit says is Connected to Computer but nothing appears on the pod. Unbelievable. At my wits end on this matter.

I've noticed that when I attempt to re-sync this iPod as new, it changes the name of the pod and also gives me trouble when trying to do it without wi-fi. Also, when I arrive at the menu item about the Apps & Data, I'm not sure about the choice to make between the choices of

Don't Transfer Apps & Data

Since this iPod is only music, no videos, pics or other data, which choice is the correct one for a straight music sync without using wi-fi?
