New Mac Mini M4 Pro says it's running at 160hz refresh rate, but clearly looks like it's 60hz

I have a new Mac mini m4 pro and an ASUS XG27UCS 27" 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) 160Hz monitor. I tried a HDMI cable that supports 4k@240hz and a USB C Thunderbolt 4 to DisplayPort cable that supports 4k@240hz. The monitor says it is operating at 160hz, but the refresh rate clearly looks like 60hz, especially when scrolling on websites and moving objects on the desktop.

What am I doing wrong?
