Live captioning not working properly since last update

Since the most recent update. I’ve had issues getting live captioning to work. My side icon disappears and only way to get is back on is to turn phone off and on. I’m deaf so I really rely on this feature. But since they did the update and made changes to this feature it just doesn’t work right. Any suggestions. Any way to let Apple know it needs to be fixed? I can’t be turning y prime on and off constantly to get it to work. And I used to be able to close it out when I was done with a conversation, now it only closes when there is no sound so stays in my screen for far too long.
