Incorrect Assessment of My Trade-In MacBook Pro M1 Pro 14"
Dear Apple and All,
I have purchased a MacBook Pro M4 Pro with trading my old MacBook Pro M1 14" (See the picture below). My trade-in was assessed as incorrect device description and the trade-in value went from $800 to $705. They said my M1 Pro trade-in was a 8-core machine. But as the picture below shows, it is a 10-core one (an upgraded M1 Pro).
$95 reduction is not the reason that I am cancelling my trade-in and returning the new M4 machine. It is that I did not get to share my information with the trade-in partner (such as the picture below, the original Apple website receipt showing the hardware information, or the original box I have...). While the serial number they have is correct and matches with the picture below, I think the trading partner has made a mistake with my old MacBook M1 Pro. It can be due to just checking the serial number in the system and not actually checking the hardware itself. I do think there is something wrong with serial numbers. Because before I bought the new machine, my old MacBook M1 Pro was stated as an M1 Max 32GB 2TB on the Apple Store App on my account?!
I am very sad and exhausted. I have called Apple many times today but in the end they did not afford me to upload evidence such as the picture below.
I am going to sell all my Apple products (My MacBook Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, AirPods Pro 2, Apple TV, 2 HomePod Minis, iPad Pro, ...) and end all Apple services (iCloud +, AppleCare+, Apple Card, Apple Savings, ...). Today has been awful and very upsetting. I should have been able to provide the information (pictures etc.) I have.
