Apple Account or Apple ID
Does having an Apple Account bring more safety and security concerns than the Apple ID method for your iPhone 13

All that was changed was the name for the account, nothing else. Previously the term "Apple ID" could mean both the email address used as the username and for the entire account. Now it is clearer that the entire account is an "Apple Account" and the Apple ID is your email address/username.
