Unsupported 7th Generation Ipod all of a sudden not recognized in Itunes

My device is recognized by my computer, it shows up in my devices/printers, it exists in Apple Mobile Application but will not show up in Itunes. Latest Itunes, Latest IOS, restarted computer, restarted Itunes, and changed USB cables. Synced Ipod in Apple Mobile devices. Nothing worked. I did read that last year someone suggested you uninstall Itunes and then reinstall it? Yikes. Apple support of course would not help. I just wish I was more computer literate. There has to be a way around this, maybe a glitch. Or maybe this is Apple's way of forcing users to use Apple Music!

No, Apple is not forcing people to use any of their newer apps, though eventually they will stop supporting iTunes. It still works, though. Perhaps this will help:

If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Note that if you have Apple's newer apps - Apple Devices, Apple Music, and Apple TV - your iPad will no longer appear in iTunes. To sync your iPad you use Apple Devices now.

Regards.
