How to retrieve Music from a dead iPod Classic?

So I have an iPod classic that has stopped charging and died. How do i get my music off my iPod? I know that its on my iTunes....but I dont know how to access that or if it is even supported anymore. Is there a way to access the music in my library on my phone to listen to? Short of carrying a million CDs around or paying for a subscription to Spotify, how do i listen to music when i want? Like a full album?

Seems you would need to access a back-up of that music, if you made one., or redownload if possible.

Wondering which iPhone model, and which iOS version you want to access your iTunes music on.

Have you checked what music is available to you in in the Apple Music app's Library ?

(ie: You can make some use of Apple Music without a subscription.

With a Music subscription you can do a lot more, and if wanted: sync your Music Library)

Subscribe to Apple Music on iPhone - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"If you’re not a subscriber, you can use Music to play music synced to iPhone from a Mac or a Windows device, play and download previous iTunes Store purchases, and play Apple Music radio for free".

Apple Music availability varies by country and region. Find out what's available in your country or region.

How to: Sign in to your Apple Account in Music on Mac - Apple Support

says:

Sign in to your Apple Account in the Music app

Note: You must use the same Apple Account in Music, Podcasts and the Apple TV app.

  1. Go to the Music app on your Mac.
  2. Choose Account > Sign In.
  3. If you forgot your Apple Account password, click “Forgot password?” and follow the on-screen instructions.

See the Apple Support articles Sign in to your Apple Account and Two-factor authentication for Apple Account.

Once signed in, check if you have any music from iTunes available in the Library.

__________

Else, if necessary: Any purchased iTunes music may be available for "REdownload" on the iPhone:

See how to: Redownload music from the iTunes Store on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
