iTunes 12.13.4.4 not finding any devices - driver issue?

Recently had to purchase a new laptop as previous died on me. I've gone through the painful routine of reinstalling all previous sofware & app including iTunes. Have installed the latest version of 12.13.4.4.

Unfortunately, iTunes is no longer seeing either my iPhone 15 Pro or iPad (10th Gen) to sync, update music, etc. Windows is completely up-to-date too. When going into Windows device manager, on to Portable devices, the driver it's showing is Windows MTP - when checking in Windows, common files, in the Apple folder, there is no driver. I can see using Zip the drivers in the exe installer file that the drivers exist, but they're not being copied over. Is the Windows MTP the issue, not having and Apple drivers?

It's super frustrating and have already spent way too much time buggering about and getting no where. I've read about rolling back to an older version of iTunes and updating, but this doesn't work for me, as I get the error message that my library can't be read as was created in a newer version of iTunes. The computer can see the device, as verified in other programs, even in device manager, it's iTunes that's the issue, not recognising any device.

Desperate for some help please!

Did you use the traditional iTunes64Setup.exe type installer, or the Microsoft Store? The old school installer should be used if you're going to find the driver folder mentioned in the tip. Uninstall the MS Store version and use this link instead:

It may help to temporarily disable any anti-virus software while installing and/or right-click on the installer and use Run as administrator.
