AirPods firrmware not updating not connecting

Current AirPods version 6A321 , when last checked, when connected to my phone and were working.

Now my iphone ios is 18.2 and required firmware is at least AirPods 3: 6F21

But not able to upgrade, tried many combinations reset, charging for many days in open/close lid, but firmware is not updating. not able to to connect with any ios device/mac/other phone etc. I tried old iphone ios 15 etc also, but no success. Tried with ios 18.1 then waited for 18.2 thinking new version will resolve, but no success.

Please help.

Have you tried to keep them connected to the charger for a prolonged period of time to see if the issues persist

If they persist you might want to take them to an Apple Store to have them update the firmware for you

Thanks for reply, I am planning to visit Apple service center next week. If you have some information, will they charge for software update, although I believe, this is Apple internal software issue for not able to update by user.

Today, I visited Apple service center. They said firmware can only be updated, if it’s connected with some device. So they are not able to update. They said try charging and reset. Otherwise assume it’s hardware channel issue, they are not able to diagnose the exact issue as it’s not connecting. It was working fine till I updated iOS on my device. Suddenly how there may be hardware issue. Apple should allow firmware updation through Mac and cable
