Figuring out iCloud Drive - Limitations or Not Doing it Right?

I am using iCloud drive on desktop, something I rarely do. I can't figure out how to do the following basic tasks, so here I am...

1- How do I search for a file by name? I have thousands of files. Sitting with a client and I can't find anything. Yikes. No search box anywhere?

2- Can't see full name of a folder /file? I just want to stretch the name column so I can see it, but is this is not possible?

3- Drag & Drop is not a thing in iCloud? Trying to move things around, to/from desktop and folders.

I've tried Brave and Chrome. Same issues.

For years, I've been just dumping folders and files in my iCloud Drive and never actually used it this way, relying on other cloud services for my work stuff. I thought I'd try to access from my mac and my phone in iCloud on my windows desktop, but this feels like it hasn't been updated in a decade. Am I doing it wrong, or is this just something Apple has ignored for basic features?

Those 3 basic things are kinda dealbreakers for daily use, accessing files etc... Am I missing something, or are these actual limitations?
