Magic mouse connects to MacBook Air but no options in settings for scrolling, zooming etc.

Got a new magic mouse and connected it via Bluetooth to my MacBook Air. It connects, but there is no options for scrolling, zooming or any other smart gestures.

What I have tried so far:

• System settings --> Mouse> See picture attached, no options for any gestures you'd expect

• Turn bluetooth and mouse on and off > didn't work

Running MacOS Monterey. It's an old mac (2015).
