iMac running macOS Catalina 10.15.7, I have removed Library prefs as mentioned in forums but still getting the same error. Can anyone advise on how to rid myself of this.

Try to check your iMac with Apple Diagnostics if it reports hardware related issues.

If it doesn't help, try to run EtreCheck and paste the result report here.

Log out of Icloud account on the Mac. Reboot and log back in. That sorted it for me. Seems its a syncing error with the address book and it needs the icloud settings revalidated.
What model and year is your iMac?
Have you added additional RAM? If so where did you get it?
Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?
In addition to the Etrecheck report (the free version is sufficient) also download and run the free version of DriveDX and post both results in your reply.
