I have a shocks headphone that works most of the time with the iPhone, but when I start hoopla often, the sound comes out of the speakers rather than the headphones

I'm assuming that you are using the Hoopla app on your iPhone ... correct?
If so, you will need to contact the app developer for assistance with this issue:
Thank you for getting back to me quickly, much appreciated. I ended up shutting down the phone and restarting it with the bluetooth Shokz already on. The Hoopla app then connected to the headphones just fine.
