Running Mac 12.7.6 on my 2015 iMac. I have lost the numbers app. I have tried to download a new version but it requires version iMac 14 or higher. I can not upgrade my iMac any further. Any ideas on how to get the numbers app

You can get the last compatible version of Numbers (& Pages) for Monterey 12.7, provided you have installed them previously from the Mac App Store and using the same Apple ID. If you haven't, or the Mac had Numbers preinstalled, then there is no means to get any version of Numbers now.
Launch the Mac App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. Press cmd+0 (zero) to open the Purchases panel, and if Numbers is there with any indication that it can be installed, then click that. Do not Cancel any subsequent dialogs and this may result in your having the last compatible version of Numbers for Monterey installed.
