Numbers - How to link / point a cell to a file.

I'm using the Numbers version 14.3 on my Mac Book Pro.

I can see a menu option that gives several 'Links' to items such as emails, phone numbers and web pages but not saved files on the computer.

While at work, a while ago now, I used spreadsheets (Excel) to quickly open files. I could have a large number of related files displayed in cells that could be sorted using key words and then open the required file from a cell.

I am hoping there is a similar function available in 'Numbers' so I can link cells to my saved scans / files and open the files from the cells.

Numbers does not support links to files on disk.

The closest you can get is to use an internet-based file storage such as DropBox, and use a https-based link to the file there, but there's no way to link to a local file on disk.
