No Ring tone in Airpods when receiving a call.

Recently my Airpod Pros stopped ringing when receiving phone calls. New iPhone 14 with iOS 18.2.1. When a call is coming in, and the Airpods are in my ears, there is no ring tone in the Airpods. I tried them on two different iphones. Same result. I have powered down both phones and reset the Airpods. Ringer volume is set to half way. Phone will vibrate when the call comes in.
