Restarting and unplugging have not worked. I am beyond livid. I bought this Apple TV to stay away from the frustrations of smart TVs and this is now just as bad. Sick of non helpful information! Not sure why this is happening as I have these apps on my iPad. And I have Netflix and Disney on the Apple TV. Apple is out of control.

Prime Video requires tvOS 14.3 or later.

it was a software update that I figured out before seeing your message. Haha. I do have Apple TV set up to automatically update but apparently it didn’t. I didn’t realize different apps required different updates. Thanks!

When app developers release a new version of their app, they can compile it for a range of system software versions as they see fit. But the programming needed may differ for some things, per version system software. The further back they want compatibility, the more effort they have to put in, so a bit more difficult. They really have to keep track of what was different in previous versions.
