Can I pay for Apple Music with my Apple Account balance?

I added some money on my Apple Account. By doing so, will it deduct money from that account balance to pay for my Apple Music? Up to this point I have connected Apple Music to a debit card. Not sure if adding money to my account will automatically change this payment method.

Sorry if it's a bit of an amateur question - any reassurance would be appreciated :)
