iCloud backup size confusion on iPhone

I’m currently unable to backup my phone to iCloud. It currently shows 4.8gb used out of the available 5gb. The existing backup is showing as 3.8gb. If I select “delete and turn off backup “ option, can I create a new backup straight away? I have all the photos and data on my phone that I need to backup. I have also turned off the apps that were using iCloud that I do not want to backup in the next backup. The thing that is confusing me is that it says next backup size +13.84gb. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ok thanks. If I go through the apps currently using iCloud backup such as WhatsApp etc and turn them off, as I already have the photos from them on my phone, and then select the “delete and turn off backup “ option, can I then do a fresh backup which will hopefully be nowhere near as big saying as how I have selected a lot less apps to use it? Thanks
