Is Self-Destruct a Setting?

My AirPods crash within months, sometimes only weeks after the warranty expires, is this normal? Last set purchased 7 January 2024, crashed 21 January 2025. This is the THIRD TIME.

Question: Is this a common occurrence?

This last fail was an audible pop, very loud, and now phone can’t find AirPod. It’s like it was programmed to self-destruct just after the warranty. Understandably frustrating, and becoming predictable.
