Airdrop not working from iPhone to mac

I couldn't find any answers to this and i figured it out. go to system> network> firewall> options. In there add (+) your airport utility to acceptable. And viola! I am not a computer guy either. Hope this helps!

can not Airdrop from iPhone/iPad to MacBook Pro, solutions? Hi, I am running Ventura 13.0 on a MacBook Pro and as exposed in subject, I can not Airdrop from updated iPhone/iPad to the computer. AirDrop stops working on Mac I have my new Mac Apple M1 Pro running Ventura 13.1 and AirDrop doesn't work. I have tried all possible suggestions online with no vain. AirDrop's setting is set to receive from Everyone. I'm able to send from my Mac to my iPhone but gets stuck in "Waiting" when I try to send from iPhone to this Mac. Here are what I did: 1) Upgrade both my phone and Mac to the latest and greatest that Apple has: NOT WORKING 2) Reset bluetooth and wifi: NOT WORKING 3) Reset then reboot both phone and Mac: NOT WORKING 4) Go with nuclear option (to delete bluetooth .plist under /Library/Preferences): NOT WORKING 5) There's no adware, firewall (disabled), content restriction (disabled), etc. on my Mac. 6) Both iPhone and Mac are using the same Apple ID account I simply can't make this work and it drives me nut. Apple Support please help.

Make sure of the following:

Both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® turned on.
The devices are within 30 feet (10 meters) of each other.

On an iPhone or iPad: Open Control Center, touch and hold the top-left group of controls, then tap . Tap Contacts Only or Everyone for 10 Minutes to choose who you want to receive items from.
Note: The Contacts Only and Everyone for 10 Minutes options are available only on devices with minimum system requirements for AirDrop.
On a Mac: Click in the menu bar, then click . When it’s blue, it’s on.
