Does macOS version correlate with Gmail issues?

Hi, This may not be the correct forum to ask....

I am taking a training class on Gmail Workspace apps. The demonstration and display of Gmail in the course does not look like what I see on my Gmail and I'm following the training instructions exactly. For example if I click on the three dots for "More" to create an event/invitation, I don't have that option in my Gmail.

I think this is an old training course - Gmail may have upgraded since then.... Now the task icon is a blue circle with checkmark and the course has it as a blue circle with what looks like a white pencil inside

My version: Sonoma 14.6.1
