Mac.com mail hijacks my outgoing MS Office mail and puts in draft

I have an MS Account, but when I send an email, my Mac.com email hijacks the message, tries to send a duplicate, and gets held up in draft for each email. Then, it summons the prompt to try a different mail to send it out when MS has already sent it. So, I often send people duplicates.

So aggravating and sucking up so much time. What do you think I should do?

I am assuming that you are using the Mail app on your Mac and not Outlook or some other email client? If so, it sounds as if there is a problem with the sending (SMTP) server(s). The most reliable method of resolving email issues like these is to:

  1. Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support
  2. Remove the Microsoft email account (Remove or temporarily turn off email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support)
  3. Disable the Mac.com email account (Remove or temporarily turn off email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support)
  4. Restart your Mac (Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support)
  5. Re-Enable your Mac.com email account (Remove or temporarily turn off email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support)
  6. Add your Microsoft account (Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support)
  7. Test sending from each account
