i included the above but if I can airplay why can’t I cast anymore?

Casting and Airplay are 2 different protocols. Casting is Google's proprietary mirroring protocol. Devices that support Casting generally don't support AirPlay too, and vice versa.
The iPhone itself does not support Casting. The Youtube app allows you to cast to supported devices. If it's no longer picking up your TV, then there may be an issue with the Casting option on your TV. You would need to refer to Google's support for help with casting and your TVs user guide to verify Casting is enabled on it.
Unless your TV supports both (unlikely), you can only use the one it supports.
If you can AirPlay, then your TV supports Airplaying and is unlikely it also supports Casting.
