Instead of the usual Wallet icon my iPhone has suddenly started to display a quadruple size plain white icon with the text “No Apple Card Account Found”. I don’t have an Apple account card and I don’t want one. How can I get the normal Wallet icon back?

That is the current appearance of the Apple wallet as you can see from the word wallet under it.
Your question about the other apps seems odd. So ill respond by asking id the apple wallet was on a page of its own would that prevent the other apps from having any effect on the wallet?
I’m curious about the obvious size difference. It seems to me to be a hack of some sort. All app icons should be the same size and yours obviously aren’t.
If an Apple App isn’t performing as expected, please delete all cards from the Wallet app and delete the app. Restart the device and download a new copy of the Wallet app and add you cards back to the Wallet.
I can’t load a screenshot (.png or .jpg) so you can see the new ‘icon’ in relation to the others on my screen.
why would it overnight change into a widget? It seems to work the same as the regular Wallet icon. Can I change it back to the Wallet icon?

Yes that’s a widget icon.
Why would the name of other app icons be of any significance?
It was attributed to a transient glitch that will likely not recur or be replicable. If it does happen again it will be in their help manuals as a result of this.
That is how I solved the problem too. What’s disturbing is that it happened and there is no known cause
I spoke with Apple Support - this was the first time they had seen or heard of this problem - no mention of it in any of their support manuals or texts.
the solution was to hard press the widget icon and then select ‘Delete Widget’. Then to go to the App Library - the regular Wallet icon still appeared there. Hard press on the Wallet icon and then drag it to its correct place on my opening screen.
Problem solved.
