Will Apple One individual subscription reward be deducted from an existing Apple One family plan?

I already have an Apple One family plan, I have also recently upgraded to an ee ‘the works’ plan which includes an Apple One individual subscription as an inclusive extra. I was told when signing up that the cost of the individual plan would be deducted from my family plan, but when I added it to my Apple account it just added it separately. I only get 14 days from tomorrow to cancel my contract if this benefit is useless, but I won’t know if it’s worked until my Apple bill is paid three weeks from now. Can anyone tell me if it will be deducted or if I should cancel the plan and pick a cheaper one? Thanks
