Ways to answer calls on iPhone 13

My wife uses an iPhone 13 Pro Max, which used to be my phone. She has Reynaud’s syndrome, which restricts the circulation in her fingers. Quite often, her finger tips are too cool to effectively work with a touch screen.

Here’s how things go for her—

  • Phone is locked: A call comes in; she sees a slider that she can move with her finger tip to answer. She tries to answer, but often her cold finger tip won’t move the slider.
  • Phone is unlocked: The phone rings; she tries to tap the green “Answer” button, but the phone does not respond. The call keeps ringing until it goes to VoiceMail.

Surely there’s a way to answer a call by tapping or pushing some physical thing on the phone?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to make a physical button answer the call.

Have you tried, "Hey Siri, answer the call?"

Or, set the phone to auto-answer. Settings>Accessibility>Touch>Call Audio Routing>Auto-Answer Calls. You can change the interval before it answers. And it is possible to decline a call using the power button.
