Mac mini M4 keeps resetting/unrecognising display settings after turning off

Whenever my Mac mini M4 falls asleep or shuts down and I turn it on again the display settings change. The monitor I have is a Samsung Odyssey G4. It seems like it unrecognised the display as the colour profile changes, brightness cannot be increased or decreased and I can only set it to 60Hz even though my monitor supports 240Hz. The issue resolves itself when I remove and reinsert the HDMI. Is this a bug which can be fixed through an update or is there a setting I may need to change?

If you are using one of the Samsung supplied cables or a low grade HDMI cable.

Replace that HDMI with a short high speed 8K 2.1 HDMI cable.

for example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08M9HND4F/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?

Or.... a short 8K USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 high speed cable.
