How can I integrate Apple Pay into my website?

I run a Social Media Management service wich is HeySmmReseller at and I’m in the process of integrating online payments. However, I’ve found that many popular payment gateways classify SMM as “high-risk” or simply decline to onboard us. I’m not sure what triggers these restrictions.

Could someone shed light on:

  1. Risk factors: What aspects of SMM (e.g. chargeback rates, regulatory concerns, fraud potential) lead gateways to flag it as high-risk?
  2. Gateway criteria: Which specific policies or merchant category codes (MCCs) apply to SMM, and how do they differ from, say, standard digital services?
  3. Finding a gateway: Are there payment providers known for supporting SMM companies? What should I look for when evaluating them?
  4. Mitigation strategies: How can I present my SMM business—contract terms, documentation, underwriting details—to improve approval odds?
  5. Any experiences, insights, or recommended gateways that accept SMM would be greatly appreciated!

Apple Pay is not a gateway or payment service provider. Apple Pay is a secure and private way to submit payment information directly from your iPhone or other Apple device to the merchant. This can prevent exposing personal and financial information to the merchant. The merchant’s credit card processor, Payment Network Operator and issuing bank still fulfill their traditional roles.

Your questions are beyond the scope of this community and the terms and conditions we’ve agreed to for posting. The best resource initially will be your brick and mortar bank you’re using for traditional financial services. If you’re using a FinTech such as PayPal or Square/Block their support teams are better positioned to answer your questions and provide more specific information regarding your business.

If you have additional questions I’ll try to do my best to answer what I can.

Thank you so much for the clear explanation, that really helps. I now understand that Apple Pay itself isn’t a payment gateway and that I’ll need to work with my bank or a processor like PayPal or Square to get set up. I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction and offering to help with any follow-up questions. Thanks again for your time and expertise!
