How can I search for the exact date of purchase in Apple Pay?

I just found out that there may be delays with Apple Pay purchases. Is there a way to find the exact date of purchase (NOT when Apple pay got around to processing it)? I have a charge I wasn’t expecting which came several days after I left a negative but true comment on a vendor page. There is also a charge I did expect from several days before that one.

I’m assuming a vendor is not Apple, but another company or organization.

Apple Pay is a service. Apple is not a bank and does not approve or decline a transaction. When you initiate an Apple Pay transactions, your iPhone (device) transmits encrypted data to through the merchants terminal and the merchant subsequently transmits the data through their credit card processor, through the Payment Network Operator (PNO), and lastly through your bank for approval.

Merchants can hold a transactions for a few days, but generally in my experience, no more than 5 days before submitting the charges to the bank. Unless the merchant requests a hold such as when a debit card is used, the charge will not appear in your card/bank transactions.

Part of the privacy Apple Pay offers, means Apple is not aware of your transactions because the data is transmitted directly from your iPhone to the merchant.
