How to edit a saved video in iCloud Photos library using Photo Booth?

I recently had a VHS tape converted to digital format, and saved it to my iCloud Photos library. I need to edit (trim) most of this video to delete the parts I don't want or need. All of the Apple Support seems to suggest doing this in Photo Booth, but I don't know how to open this video in Photo Booth. Looking for suggestions for what is (I hope) a relatively straightforward issue.

I'm not an all sure what you've heard, but Photo Booth is not a video editor. iMovie is. Photos can be used to edit videos. You can use Quicktime Player to do some editing, like cutting out pieces.

If your videos are already in Photos, that is if you have them in Photos on your Mac, then Photos is a good way to go. If you need to cut the videos into pieces and then put the pieces together, then Photos won't do. You can do some of that with Quicktime Player. iMovie lets you do way more editing-- with a bigger learning curve…
