Some of my apps now have 3 dots in a box in the upper left hand corner of my ipad screen. These dot are red
with an X in it, yellow with a minus sign and green with the diagonal arrows that show full screen. These ddots are similar to the ones on my mac and have just shown up since I upfraded to ios 26.
I hve not gotten an answer on why some of my iops apps have them and some don't

This is a new feature in iPadOS 26: Windowed Apps. And you are right: they are similar to macOS. You can turn that functionality off in Settings > Multitasking & Gestures.
