Wireless Tag Detected Near You?
Hi all, so I have received this notification on my iPhone twice in a span of about two weeks. I don't drive I just walk, and the two times I received a notification it was while I was walking in a highly populated area, downtown. The first time I got the message it was while I was at the mall. I went to Find My on my iPhone and didn't see any devices that weren't mine.
Second time it happened was last night, and I was walking with a friend going to the store and it was just before 12AM. I actually took a few screenshots this time and the picture below is one of them. But this time I got the notification while I was just getting home and putting stuff away that I had bought.
I searched the message on Google and a thread in a forum came up and it doesn't look like they figured out what was causing this message to come up. I do always have Bluetooth turned on because I have an Apple Watch, and I did look through my backpack and jacket and my clothes and I couldn't find any sort of tracking device.
Oh yeah, and the second time I got the message on my iPhone I actually tapped on the message and told it to play a sound, but I heard nothing. Someone else in that thread I found also mentioned trying out an app for iOS called BLE scanner which will apparently show all Bluetooth devices nearby. Of course I tried it but the list is very long since I am in a highly populated area.
I was with that same friend both times when I got the message on my iPhone so maybe he's got some kind of tracking device attached to him and he doesn't know it?. I don't think he even knows how to use one. Anyways, if anyone has any ideas please respond as this is kind of concerning. It looks like a few people are getting this message from what I have seen after searching for that error message on Google.
