Unable to mirror screen on iPhone

Whenever I try to mirror my screen, I am unable to do so. I have been able to do it once, and since then it hasn't worked since, like it wont give me the opption to select what i want to view and i have tried two different addapters to try and make it work but it still doesnt, and i need it to work for my job, any advice on how tol get it to work would be great.
