FPS DROP while gaming (BGMI)

I am unable to play bgmi at 120fps after the ipados26 update. The game starts with 120fps but only for 3minutes or less then the frames drop to 30-40fps and screen becomes really disturbing to eye and gaming becomes a nightmare at this fps. There are no issues with my in game settings. And it’s a apple software glitch.however i get a constant 120fps while screen recording my game. But this makes my device heat up and increase lag. I have tried all types of settings within the game as well as ipad. This problem still persist.please i need help with this asap.

Overheating/Thermal Throttling: The most frequent cause. When your phone gets too hot, it intentionally slows down the processor (throttling) to protect the hardware, which causes massive FPS drops.

Aggressive Graphics Settings: Your in-game graphics settings are too high for your device's hardware (processor, RAM, and GPU) to consistently handle.

Background Apps and Processes: Too many apps running in the background are consuming RAM and CPU resources that BGMI needs.

Low Storage Space: Insufficient free storage space (less than 5-6GB free is often cited) can slow down the overall system performance.

Internet/Network Issues: While it mainly causes high ping (lag), an unstable connection can sometimes lead to stuttering and perceived FPS drops.

Outdated Software/Game: Bugs or lack of optimization in an older version of the game or your phone's operating system.

Steps to Fix FPS Drops

Optimize In-Game Graphics Settings

This is the most effective first step, especially for non-flagship devices.

  • Go to Settings $\rightarrow$ Graphics in BGMI.
  • Graphics: Set to Smooth or Balanced. Start with Smooth.
  • Frame Rate: Set to the highest available option (e.g., Extreme, Ultra, or High). Prioritize a high frame rate over high graphics.
  • Style: Choose Classic or Colorful (avoid Realistic).
  • Anti-Aliasing: Disable or Close it.
  • Shadows: Disable them.
  • Auto-Adjust Graphics: Turn Off this feature.

Manage Device Performance & Temperature

Close Background Apps: Before starting BGMI, manually close all other unnecessary apps running in the background.

Check for Software/Game Updates: Ensure both your phone's Operating System (Android/iOS) and the BGMI app are updated to the latest versions.

Enable Game/Performance Mode: Many phones have a dedicated 'Game Mode' or 'High Performance Mode' in settings that prioritizes the game.

Clear BGMI Cache: Go to your phone's Settings $\rightarrow$ Apps $\rightarrow$ BGMI $\rightarrow$ Storage and select Clear Cache (not Clear Data, as that deletes your progress/settings).

Free up Storage: Try to maintain at least 5-6GB of free storage space on your phone.

Control Overheating

Overheating is a major FPS killer.

  • Remove the Phone Case: If you have a bulky case, take it off while gaming to help dissipate heat.
  • Use a Cooler Environment: Play in a cool room, or use a mobile phone cooling fan/pad.
  • Avoid Charging While Playing: Charging generates heat, and playing a demanding game at the same time can cause severe overheating and throttling.
