After watchOS 26 update, Workout feedback voice sounds like “Greeklish” — anyone else seeing this?

After installing watchOS 26, I noticed that the Workout app’s voice feedback has changed on my Apple Watch.

My setup:

• Watch display (and main) language: Greek
• Siri language: English (US)
• Voice Feedback: Enabled

During workouts, the voice now tries to pronounce the Greek prompts using the English Siri voice — it sounds like strange “Greeklish” and is hard to understand. The text on the screen is still shown correctly in Greek, so this seems to be related only to the spoken feedback.

In previous watchOS versions, the watch would speak the feedback normally in Greek, even though Siri didn’t support Greek.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior after updating to watchOS 26?

If so, have you found any way to make the announcements sound correct again (or to switch back to the older type of speech)?
