Video problem in Screen Mirroring w/ Samsung Q90 series

Screen mirroring seems to be working fine - until I try to watch a DVD, or an episode of an Apple.TV series. Mac and Samsung are on the same wifi and connected over Bluetooth.

TV: Samsung Q90 series (75)

Laptop: Macbook Air 2022 M2, Sequoia 15.7.1

The window containing the video is black in the AppleTV app, and gray when running a DVD. In both cases, audio of the show I want to watch is fine.

With the DVD, I can actually see the video for half a second before the screen (if in full screen) or the window containing the video goes gray -- and every time I switch from full screen back to window, and also vice versa, I see vid for half a second.

Any ideas?

Addenda:

1) About the window or full screen with the video in it, going black or gray: This applies to the laptop as well - the video material isn't shown there either; just a black or gray screen/window.

2) The problem is the same when connected over HDMI.
