Refunds and refunding in-app purchases from app store games.

In-app purchases from the App store.

So i bought something in the game toca boca a few years ago and now they released that it’s free for everyone, i contacted them and they said they cant refund me because apple doesnt allow them to and if i want a refund i’ll have to contact apple. Anyone know how i can get my money back?

Here's how to request an app or media refund from Apple (From: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support - see the article for more detail.) If you bought this in the EU from a third party, see: About purchases not billed through the App Store or the App Store’s In-App Purchase system - Apple Support instead.

1. Sign in to https://reportaproblem.apple.com

2. Tap or click "I'd like to," then choose "Request a refund."

3. Choose the reason why you want a refund, then choose Next.

4. Choose the app, subscription, or other item, then choose Submit.

If you were charged for a subscription that you no longer want, you can also cancel the subscription using the directions in this article --> If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support


Read this support article for information about how long it takes to receive a refund (if you are granted one), and how to check the status of a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple --> Check the status of a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support



I suspect that after several years have passed that your purchases made back then will no longer be eligible for a refund, but you are welcome to try.

It is not likely you would get a refund after a few years and may not even be able to request a refund from that far back. While it is true that Toca Boca cannot issue you a refund through the App Store purchase, there is nothing stopping them from sending you a check or giving you a free Promo Code for another purchase. That would be up to Toca Boca and their desire to support customers that use their platform. Some important notes on the Terms of Use that Toca Boca provides is:

  • You acknowledge that all In-App Purchases are final, and We do not refund, transfer or change a completed transaction.
  • We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently increase or decrease the prices and/or availability of In-App Purchases in any manner such as, but not limited to, having sales, having offers for a limited amount of time or only during certain hours or on certain geographical locations, bundling In-Game Products with each other, awarding users with In-Game Products as bonuses or limiting the amount of In-Game Products you may purchase.
