2015 MacBook Pro won't start after factory reset, charger remains amber

I have a 2015 A1502 EMC 2835 Macbook Pro

It has good in good working condition, with no recent issues. A few days back I ran a factory reset, to wipe some old accounts, and was able to reinstall and use the laptop for a few hours afterwards.

Next day, when I came to reuse the laptop it was totally unresponsive, with no start up screen or sound.

Also, I found that the charging light on my charger remains on amber, and does not turn to green, even after 24 hours of connected charging.

I've tried SMC resetting, disconnecting the battery and trying to operate from the mains, but neither work.

Any ideas of the issue or solve welcomed before trip to my local Apple store (Watford, UK)

Sounds like some hardware issue....independent of your "factory reset"

for your 10 year old Mac I would not spend any money on it...

I have to agree with that (sadly). The failure appears to be catastrophic, or maybe just the power-related circuitry internal to the laptop, which prevents the computer from even showing any sign of life. But that power-related circuitry and related parts on a 2015 laptop are not commercially available anymore, and any parts found will be used and worn and likely problematic for their own reasons.
